VIGILS
Between
5 - 20 “activists” have supported our Monthly vigils which have
taken place in various locations across the electorates with the aim
of engaging the wider population in conversations about the
entrapment of 137 + children on Nauru. The photo above was taken at a

LETTER WRITING GROUP
One
of our learnings from Julian Burnside QC is that handwritten letters
are often more noticed and responded to than typed and emailed ones.
We recently had success in securing a meeting with one of our Labour
Senators when their office responded to a handwritten letter after
several previous attempts by phone and email!
In
gearing up for a possible Federal Election this year and the ALP
Conference in December Ruth Merrick is in the process of setting up a
Hand-written Letter
Writing Group to
write to Politicians and Unions. Templates will be provided and the
only skill you need is clear and neat handwriting. Please contact
Ruth at ruthjohnmaeve@gmail.com
